Terms & Conditions

1. Unique Business Events (UBE) is a sole propertyship operated by Maaike Engbersen. UBE is registered in the Netherlands under number 85849847 of the Chamber of Commerce.

2. These general terms and conditions apply to every (follow-up) assignment issued to UBE.

3. UBE characterizes itself by working with you to pursue the following principles:

Freedom: Enabling journeys that liberate individuals from the ordinary, fostering exploration on their terms.

Sustainability: Crafting responsible travel experiences that preserve the planet and enrich local communities.

Empathy: Building connections through personalized care, understanding, and anticipating the needs of every traveler.

Creativity: Infusing innovation into every itinerary, transforming business travel into unique and inspiring adventures.

4. Despite these principles, it can happen in any cooperation that one party is (held) liable for not fulfilling what has been agreed. This also applies to UBE. In that context, you may expect UBE to have taken out liability insurance that is customary in the industry. You should also take into account that UBE cannot accept every liability. In that context, UBE limits its liability to the amount to which the Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) or the General Liability Insurance (GLI) of UBE gives claim, increased by the excess borne by UBE under that PLI or GLI. In no event shall – and you also hereby expressly accept this – UBE be liable for damages suffered by third parties who are in a contractual relationship with you and/or who claim damages from you as a result of (or related to) the activities of UBE. Only your own terms of liability and limitations apply to this.

5. Although UBE will often be present in person in the execution of the agreement with you, it may also occur that UBE engages third parties. When this occurs, UBE will want to recognize its own “core values” as much as possible in this third party and also UBE will be able to accept any limitations of liability used by these third parties as well on your behalf. Therefore, any liability of UBE's own for any mistakes made by these third parties is excluded also in our relationship.

6. Because UBE wishes to pay its invoices to third parties within the time limits set for that purpose, UBE also expects you to pay invoices sent by UBE in a timely manner – thus always within 14 days unless otherwise agreed. In the unlikely event that this does not happen, UBE may run into many problems as a result and may have to incur costs in order to effect collection. Therefore, in the event of non-timely payment, although an additional payment period of 7 calendar days will be given, thereafter "default" applies. In concrete terms, this means that in addition to the amount(s) owed, UBE is then also entitled to the legal interest of a fixed amount for collection costs which will be 15% of the total amount owed by you, always with a minimum of € 275 ex VAT.

7. UBE shall make every effort to achieve optimal cooperation in accordance with its principles. In the unlikely event of disagreement, UBE will gladly opt for a solution that follows from a constructive discussion. If this does not have the desired result, a mediator will be sought - in mutual consultation and at joint expense - in order to reach an optimal solution. Only when one of us does not appreciate a mediation, or when the mediation does not lead to the desired result, a judge may be called in to rule on the dispute that has arisen.

8. UBE is a data controller as stipulated in the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). It processes personal data as described in its privacy statement, which can be found at https://www.uniquebusinessevents.com/privacy.

9. Only Dutch law shall apply to the legal relationship between UBE and the client - to the exclusion of international treaties. As a result, these general terms are adopted in Dutch as the authentic language.
